BIO

A journey that started on a dodgy, secondhand controller in uni halls, GUNTER has been honing his craft and keeping audiences on their toes since 2015. In 2017, the hard work started to pay off when he won a competition judged by Disclosure to play the opening set at Wildlife Festival.

This began to establish GUNTER’s name in Brighton, as he secured residencies at some of the city’s most-loved clubs. Off the back of these, he went on to support some of the most exciting names on the scene, including Afroquoi, Bklava, Nightmares On Wax and Kurupt FM's Steve Stamp, at venues such as Concorde 2, Patterns and The Tempest.

A typical GUNTER set aims to be fun, varied and upbeat. Although never strictly limited by genre, he takes the crowd from the soulful to the stripped back, the euphoric to the energetic, playing anything from Funk and Disco through to pumping House and Garage. He is also not afraid to throw in the occasional crowd-pleasing classic.

Whilst GUNTER made his entry into the scene through DJing, in 2020, he decided to take on his own productions. This quickly generated support, when in 2021, he gained support from Jaguar and Sentric Music Publishing, landing him BBC Radio 1 plays of his single, Early Mornings in the Rain. This gave him the confidence to continue producing, releasing a VIP mix, which gained traction on some notable Spotify playlists. More recently, GUNTER has increasingly incorporated his own music into his sets, getting great reactions from crowds at his co-run clubnight, Shake a Leg.

With a recent move to Bristol, GUNTER is now looking ahead -  driven by a desire to connect a new audience to his dancefloor-focused sound. Bringing Shake a Leg to new cities, along with sharing a string of upcoming releases, also plays a part in his plans. Above all else, 2024 is GUNTER’s year for creating new opportunities!
